SERIES 15: Koppi, Helsingborg Sweden
Just across the bridge from Copenhagen rests a quaint town called Helsingborg. But do not be fooled by its size, for it is home to two giant pioneers in Scandanavian coffee culture.
Coffee lovers meet Anne Lunell and Charles Nystrand, the founders of Koppi.
With consecutive Swedish Barista Championship wins (2005 for Charles & 2006 for Anne), it was a no-brainer when these two joined forces and founded Koppi in 2007.
Anne shares that, "the name Koppi comes from the Indonesian word for coffee, Kopi. We added a “p” since we liked it better visually".
Koppi is committed to coffee diversity. With strong connective relationships with the farmers & farms they buy coffee from, Koppi consistently offers compelling and rare coffees. Anne spends 4-5 weeks per year in different origin countries working alongside farmers and coffee neighbourhoods. In witnessing how difficult conditions of the farmers , their work and all that is required for coffee growth, Anne believes people should be paying more for coffee if it is to be enjoyed in the future.
and, delivers award-winning coffee every time.
